Workers under the aegis of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria have protested the non-payment of their eight months salaries.

The protesters, at the Dock Workers branch of Nigeria Port Authority in Lagos, have threatened to embark on an indefinite strike.

President of the Maritime Union Workers, who spoke on behalf of the protesters, said: “We have an agreement with the government; if they didn’t pay us we will withdraw our services nationwide on October 30.”
