A new 50-meter bridge connecting a number of farming communities to the Hohoe Township in the Hohoe Municipality has been inaugurated at Hohoe Segbedeme.

non 087The 37,000 Euro ?International Children Help (ICH)? project was built by King Cephas Bansah, Traditional Spiritual and Honourable King of the Ewes and his German friends among them Dr. Dieter Kindermann, President of the NGO ?International Children Help,? Germany.

King Bansah and Queenmother Mama Gabriele Bansah, having been informed about the many unfortunate occurrences of death of farmers and school children whenever the River Dayi gets flooded, quickly organized and raised funds to build the bridge. The ICH sponsored about half the cost of the bridge.

Present at the inaugural ceremony of the bridge were the Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency and the Deputy Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Bernice Adiku Helo, the Municipal Chief Executive of Hohoe Dr. Magaret Quarcoo, King Cephas Bansah, Queenmother Mama Gabriele Bansah, Mr. Gerhard Lauth from Germany GIZ, the engineer of the bridge, Mr. Emmanuel Kweku Bansah, Honourable Fredolin Kwasi Bansah, Deputy Hohoe NADMO Coordinator, Togbe Osei, Chief of Gbi Godenu and many other distinguished personalities.

Dr. Bernice Heloo and Dr. Margaret Quacoo took turns and thanked the German sponsors for their charitable efforts in bringing the project to fruition.

Another bridge for Kpoeta, jointly sponsored by King Bansah and Mrs. Karin Tag from Germany is also under construction and will be completed by 15th November 2013. There is a fourth bridge earmarked for Hohoe Dzegana.

The people of Hohoe thanked Kign Cephas Bansah, the International Children Help and all Germans, wishing them good luck, prosperity and long life.
