Zambia coach Herve Renard says he wants Lesotho to defeat Ghana in their 2014 World Cup qualifier on Sunday to enhance his side?s chances of reaching the final phase.
The Frenchman?s hopes of taking the Chipolopolo to the final phase of the qualifiers were dealt a severe blow on Saturday when they were held to a 1-1 by Sudan in Ndola.
Zambia missed the chance to pull four points clear at the top Group D after the Nile Crocodiles stunned them with an outstanding display.
Victory would have given the Copper Bullets a significant advantage over Ghana.
The failure to take all three points in Ndola means the Black Stars can go top of Group D should they win in Lesotho on Sunday.
Renard says he is banking on Lesotho to produce a miracle result on Sunday at home in Maseru to dent Ghana?s chances.
?We have to wait for the result of Ghana tomorrow then we will see how our team will be,? Renard said after his team were held to a 1-1 draw by Sudan in Ndola.
?I hope Lesotho will play the same game like Sudan played today.?
Zambia are on 11 points, two more than Ghana whom they face in the final Group D decider this September in Kumasi.
The winner of the group will reach the final phase of the qualifiers which is a playoff in October/November.
