Ghana have left out midfielders Kwadwo Asamoah and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu in their starting line-up to face Sudan in a crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday.

In what looks like an attacking-minded team, Italy-based striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom will partner Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan to attack the Nile Crocodiles in the game in Omdurman.

Defender Jonathan Mensah returns to the Black Stars starting line-up in the absence of injured Isaac Vorsah as he will partner John Boye at the heart of the defence.

Richard Kissi Boateng and Harrison Afful will play at the right and left-back respectively while Mohammed Rabiu and Sulley Muntari will play in central midfield.

Albert Adomah and Mubarak Wakaso will play in the right and left wing positions respectively with Asamoah Gyan leading the attack.

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauada will retain his place in the starting line-up as the coach looks to have deployed the traditional 4-4-2 Ghanaian formation.

Kwadwo Asamoah was left out of the starting line-up because of fitness problems as the coach hinted after Thursday training in Sudan.

But Agyemang Badu?s dropping from the team?s starting line-up seems to have come from the presence of Muntari who is regarded as the better player in the offensive midfield position.

With speedy youngsters Adomah and Wakaso supporting the two defensive midfielders, coach Kwesi Appiah looks to expect them to join to help the midfielders when they are on the defence.

But their crosses will the crucial for Gyan and Yiadom as the Black Stars look to get the goals to give the Black Stars the victory to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

With this line-up other formidable players Badu, Atsu and Hearts of Oak star Mahatma Otoo could give the coach options on the bench when things are not going well.

In defence towering Awal Mohammed and Rashid Sumaila as well as Baba Rahman and Samuel Inkoom will give the Black Stars lots of options.

Ghana starting line-up:

Fatau Dauda, Harrison Afful, Richard Kissi Boateng, Jonathan Mensah, John Boye, Rabiu Mohammed, Albert Adomah, Sulley Muntari, Asamoah Gyan, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Mubarak Wakaso.
