Serbian authorities said Monday that they had found a wolf living inside a man’s fifth-floor apartment in the industrial town of Kragujevac.
The man, who until recently reportedly lived on a derelict farm in a nearby village with hundreds of stray dogs, was facing “legal action,” officials said.
Police, veterinary and environmental protection officers in the town said that the wolf was being kept illegally and in unsanitary conditions but were unable to immediately seize it and other unspecified animals.
The female wolf was discovered late last week, but is still waiting for transport, probably to the Belgrade zoo, the regional environment agency head, Tatjana Babic, told the Tanjug news agency.
