With barely 24 hours to the national delegates congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has assured that everything needed to make the congress successful on Saturday is ready.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Friday, General Mosquito said the preparation for the election is 100 percent.

?Our preparation for the election is 100 percent at this stage; because we opened nominations, closed nominations, did vetting, qualified candidates selected, positions on ballot paper determined, ballot papers have been printed, delegates list have been compiled and agreed upon???

?I will say that at this stage all is set for the elections and we have invited our friends from the other political parties ,?? Mr. Asiedu Nketia told Citi Breakfast Show host, Bernard Avle.

General Mosquito also revealed that his biggest challenge is to combine his role as the main organizer for the delegates? congress and campaigning for re-election.

About 4, 000 delegates are expected to converge on the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, the venue for the event.

The congress has 84 Ministers of state, 216 Metropolitan/Municipal/District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), 147 Members of Parliament (MPs), 30 National Executives, and 10 NEC members as delegates.

The rest are 77 founding members; 15 Council of Elders; 100 regional delegates; 2,750 constituency delegates and 200 Diaspora delegates.

The election of the NDC?s new National Executive Committee (NEC) will pave way for the election of a presidential candidate ahead of the 2016 general elections.

Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has indicated it is fully prepared for the NDC congress.

In an interview with Citi News, Public Relations Officer of the Regional Command, ASP Mohammed Tanko urged delegates to also be security conscious.

?We have instituted all necessary arrangements?? to ensure that we give the congress the necessary security that it deserves; we have already selected the men who will be perform that particular duty; we are also asking for the support of everybody who has a stake in the congress to assist the police,?? he noted.
