….. after Adu-Asare?s cry of negligence?

I am a bit uncomfortable writing this. Unlike my ?protagonist? I am not yet self-made, if that means being him. But like most ordinary Ghanaians I?ve got my opinion entirely to myself. And this finds me no rest when drenched till it lands me into it depth. So for you, I will not want you to judge me by how well I have done in business.

Rather on the premise that like my newly found role-model, David F.K Mpanga, I wonder ??how, in the 21st Century, a young and healthy woman could bleed to death in the maternity suite of a facility that called itself a hospital??.? This I am sure many of you my readers goes through quite often. Not so?

Going further with him, I vehemently ??denounce the people whose greed and short sight has condemned us to this fate and say that their judgment would come soon??. Equally, realising the trouble ahead I will qualify this by saying I have not called you ?names? and that ??this is just common sense??. But one thing is reportedly clear. You are alleged; that is, if I am too scared to be blunt; to have admitted to negligence.

Ghana?s world cup trauma may have hit us all once; and if not for the ongoing presidential enquiries, I am confident many of us might have gone pass it pains. Let me not be the ?one man devil? here, Ghanaians are alleged to have ??short memory??. To the extent that not even a miserable abrupt end to their passion could trigger historical remembrance, I guess.

But for those whose mandate, actions and actions brought supporters the pain even if it had been short lived, and Ghana the misery, simply because of the mess, the trauma seems to have multiple effect. Whiles tears drop down the cheeks of some, for somewhat; emotions, ungratefulness, provocation, misery, deceit, guilt, or perhaps as one calls it, the ?hurts of being called a thief?.

The ?tears segment? began with no other than the Ex-Minister for Youth and Sports. Name withheld. Just as they do sometimes. This was then followed by the former MP for Adenta, Hon. Kojo Adu-Asare, the protagonist in this plot. Let it be known to you, Mr. Adu-Asare, you are not alone in knowing why you cried. I have tried finding out and all I am getting are some baseless perceptions that seem to suggest you were shedding ?crocodile tears?. If only I know what that means.

Mr Adu-Asare may be youthful but he is ?no youth?. Yet he heads the newly launched YES Fund where President Mahama?s GH? 10m gift to youth enterprise support is safely kept and to be efficiently and effectively tended to the benefit of all. This makes him my interest.

And I am sure even the most myopic stakeholder analysis and mapping will find my age category high and influential.

In any case, my identity is no hidden, I am ?twenty-something?. I am first a youth, second a Ghanaian. Then perhaps my African identity may follow. I am also hoping that one day, all things being equal the GH? 10m will be beneficial to me and or my generation.

But this is what is troubling; a man who couldn?t be diligent with his role in the world cup turns out to have a part to play with it. How?

When on Wednesday a very prominent chief and broadcaster asserted that the YES boss has by his conduct ended his political career, I thought he is being realistic. But on one hand I had my doubts. Ghana appreciates mediocrity. But I will not support such weakness. Rather I take the former forward by thoroughly saying, this has or if not yet, must not only end his political career but also make him take his hands off our money-talking of President Mahama?s GH? 10m gift to the youth.

This he must do by himself or the president should help him do. We are no longer at ease with him handling our cash.

Be not mistaken. I am not against any man?s progress. But just as the good Bible says… ??But he that knew not and committed things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more??.

Tears are the least to be expected from a man in whose hands the passion of 24 million Ghanaians were entrusted. What then will he teach young Ghanaians, to not take responsibility or perhaps cry when they fall out of business or mismanage their share of the fund?

Paraphrasing the ?chief broadcaster? where will Adu-Asare take Ghana?s youth in this enterprise development agenda when he couldn?t take us to Brazil? Where else my dearest readers?

Let not forget what the Bible says in Luke 16: ?Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. The latter I have said of you.

But already, we have our own doubts of how successful this fund will turn out. This is not out of mirage or pessimism. GYEEDA AND MASLOC scandals are not far-fetch. The best they have served has been to enrich partisan cohorts. So be the last to heighten our fears and panic.

Leave and never come back. Sorry if I am being heartbreaking. I did not risk writing just to comfort you. Rather to ask you to take hands off that which has me and my likes in mind. But should be in need, then perhaps John 11:35 will best fit.
