Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said the body had since been conveyed to the Yendi Government Hospital for preservation.

According to him, a colleague of the deceased?known as Reverend Father Dery Suom?on Sunday morning went to visit him only to realise that he had hanged himself in the hall of Bungalow No. 3A at the campus, located at Malshegu.

On seeing him with a protruding tongue and some foam oozing from his mouth, Father Dery Suom claimed he raised an alarm and the police were invited to the scene.

The investigators, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh explained, took some scene shots to assist them in unraveling the actual cause of the Rev. Father?s strange death.

According to the police chief, the deceased did not leave any suicide note in order to provide clues for his action, ruling out the possibility of any foul play in his death.

Management of the Seminary was tight-lipped over the matter, but the police had indicated that an autopsy would be performed on the body to determine the actual cause of death.

Meanwhile, the Catholic community in Tamale and Sandema, his hometown in the Builsa District of the Upper East Region, are distraught over the matter.

Many were wondering what could have pushed the priest to end his life in such a bizarre circumstance.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that he took his vow of celibacy in 2011 with four others to officially induct them into priesthood.
