The Office of the National Security Adviser on Tuesday denied the allegation that it managed the funds of the Ministry of Defence.

This is contained in a statement issued by Mr Karounwi Adekunle, Special Assistant Media to the National Security Adviser, in Abuja.

The statement, which reacted to a report, stated clearly and unambiguously that the office was separate from the ministry in all budgetary affairs.

The statement stated that the office and the ministry defended their budgets separately before the National Assembly.

According to the statement, all budgetary provisions are clearly spelt out and within the public domain.

It added that the office had no responsibility for military personnel salaries and allowances, capital projects or otherwise, adding that all were within the domain of the ministry.

“So, how can the office of national security adviser have been accused of managing defence funds???
