He said that could be done by creating awareness of global development and relating it to local situations both technically and culturally.

In an article published in the latest edition of the Science Policy Africa, Prof Elngadi said universities should help students through education to be qualified as well as trained for relevant jobs needed to develop their societies.

He averred that the quality of university education in the region helped contribute significantly to Middle East development and that most of infrastructure developments in Egypt and surrounding countries in the 1930?s to 1970?s was conducted through efforts of university graduates.

In the article, Prof Elnagdi demonstrates the extent of deterioration in health as well as educational systems in the Arab North as well as the Middle East, averring that the gradual change in middle class values to the present state shows that governments in the region should strive against brain drain as it costs huge amounts of money to train a single productive professional.
