Unibank Shows Love To Muslims On Eid-Ul-Fitr

Unibank Ghana limited, a wholly owned Ghanaian bank, has donated items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osman Nuhu Shaributu, and the National Hajj Committee, in support of the just celebrated Idr Fitr (end of Ramadan).

The donations, which were made two days to Ramadan by managers of the bank formed part of its corporate social responsibilities to lend helping hand to the less privileged and destitute in society.

Managers of the bank, led by its Chief Operations Officer, Dr Kwabena Duffuor II, presented to the Chief Imam a cash amount of GH 2,000.00, one bull, 40 cartons of soft drinks and 10 bags of rice.

Prior to that, the bank, which is the official bank for this year?s Hajj, also donated to the Hajj committee at the hajj village an amount of GH 10,000.00, 40 cartons of soft drinks and 10 bags of rice.

Speaking at a short ceremony at the Chief Imam?s residence, Dr Duffuor II, noted that it was importance on a festive day like Idr Fitr to acknowledge the immense contribution of Muslims in nation building.

While stressing the need for the various religious bodies in the country to treat each other with respect, he urged all Ghanaians to work towards consolidating the peace the country has enjoyed over the years.

He stated that ?the contribution of Muslims should not be overlooked since Ghanaians in general believe in peace and love one another.?

Dr Duffour II noted that the bank will continue to support the Muslim community and build a strong relationship with people.

Speaking on behalf of the Chief Imam, the Chairman of the National Hajj Committee, Alhaji Abdul Rauf Ibrahim Tanko, stated that he was personally grateful for the bank?s kind gesture, and pledged his outfits? and the Chief Imams office stronger collaborations.
