UEFA: Barca to face Man City for the second time

Spanish football juggernauts fc Barcelona will face Manchester City for the second time in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 following Monday’s draw in Nyon, Switzerland.
After coming out as runner’s up in Group E this pair is certainly not the one that the English champions dreamt of haven’t fallen to the Catalans at the phase last season by 4-1 on aggregate.
Current Premiership leaders, Chelsea will also have to do a second straight battle with French Champions Paris St. Germain.

The Blues advanced to the quarter final stage at the expense of PSG last season courtesy a dramatic last minute goal by Senegalese striker Demba Ba to record a 3-3 draw on aggregate.
However, Arsene Wenger had to be slapped with a nostalgic battle as he leads Arsenal to his native France to face AS Monaco, a club he managed from 1987-1994 before joining the English side.
The French side is second on the Ligue 1 table and have been monitoring Arsene Wenger’s situation at the Emirate as they have prepared a deal-in-waiting for the French football teacher, but in his interview after the draw Wenger said, “I’m not against it at all.”

“It would be a visit to my first home. Of course I would love to go there,” happily looking Wenger added.
Reigning European Champions, Real Madrid was handed an easier draw as they face German outfit Schalke 04.
Real Madrid qualified to the round of 16 with excellence, topping Group B with 18 points from six games, better that any other ream in the competition. Apart from that they have won 20 consecutive games in all competition, giving them the mask of looking like the first team to win the Champions League back-to-back.
Italian giant Juventus come face-to-face with Jurgen Klop’s Borussia Dortmund in the repeat of the 1996/1997 final which the German’s won the trophy from their Italian counterpart.

Last year’s beaten finalists, Atletico Madrid will pit their weight against Bayer Leverkusen. Diego Simone’s side are not enjoying a smooth sailing in the La Liga but they are still a force to reckon with in the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich were handed a tricky duel as they face Ukraine Champions Shakhtar Donetsk while Swiss side fc Basle take on Portuguese Champions fc Porto.
