WARRI – THERE are moves for Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark groups in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta State, to meet to iron out their differences before the party is thrown into another avoidable crisis.
Vanguard learnt that both Uduaghan and Clark spoke on phone and agreed on the desirability of the peace meeting. A source told Vanguard: “The governor is to convene the parley.”
The source said Uduaghan discussed for close to 30 minutes with Chief Clark on phone, shortly after members of the latter’s group rose from a meeting in Warri, last Saturday, announcing a breakdown in the peace accord between the two sides.
The governor confirmed to Vanguard that he spoke to Chief Clark on the development and after their discussion, the elder statesman requested him to convene a peace meeting of both groups to harmonize the areas of dispute.
