Two auto sprayers, Kwaku Gyau and Kwaku Donkor, who allegedly stole a Nissan Almera taxi valued at GH?17,000.00 were on Monday put before a Kumasi circuit court charged with conspiracy and dishonestly receiving a stolen car.

wpid-court20ordders0.jpgThe court, presided over by Mr Justice William Boampong, a High Court Judge, sitting as an additional Circuit Court Judge, granted the suspects a GH?30,000.00 bail with one surety each.
This was after they had pleaded not guilty to the crime. They would make their next appearance on Tuesday, May 12.
Police Chief Inspector Timothy Amoako said the driver, Kwabena Adjei, was robbed of the car on November 23, last year, after he had been engaged by two people, a man and a woman, to drive them in his taxi from Asafo to Kwadaso Agric.
The prosecution said mid-way through the journey they attacked him, seized the car and fled with it.
The prosecution said the victim formally reported the incident to the police who managed to track it down to a workshop operated by Donkor at Asuofua in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District, where the original colour was changed and the number plate changed.
He was arrested and led the police to Gyau, who he claimed had brought the alleged owner, named only as ?America? together with the car his workshop to get the colour changed.
Gyau could, however, not lead the police to the said owner.
The court asked the victim to come forward with the documents covering the vehicle to get it released to him.
