Ambassador-designate, Dr.Tony Aidoo has indicated that the unpopularity of the 2012 NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo within the party and with non-NPP supporters, has to do with his body language.
According to him, Nana Addo?s body language is offensive and it puts people off.
Dr.Tony Aidoo made this statement on Radio Golds, ?Alhaji and Alhaji? when he was commenting on the recent internal wrangling within the NPP following certain utterances by Dr Konadu Apraku.
Following the call by Dr.Apraku for the NPP to change leadership in terms of the flagbearer since Nana Addo has lost twice, supporters of Nana Addo have descended heavily on him with the NPP General Secretary even alleging that Dr.Apraku is lobbying for a position within the Mahama-led NDC administration.
?My perception is that Nana Akufo Addo has a body language that does not appeal to people and I don?t know if he is conscious of that offensive body language of his. When he speaks and the mannerism and the gesticulation and so on and so forth; the shrugging of the shoulder and so on; people will look at you and say but who does he think he is?
The element of humility is not visible in his (Nana?s) body language and so it leaves people to the conclusion that he is arrogant and so full of himself, that if he is given the chance at the presidency, he might be more arrogant.
May be appearance may be deceptive and it is not all that glitters that is gold but so far as appearances are concerned, I think sometimes it (body language) is a put off and I think he (Nana) is in dying need of communication therapy.
If the NPP are saying Dr Apraku is entitled to his own opinion, then why are they attacking him? I think they are doing so because they believe that any statement that does not reinforce the impression that Akufo Addo is a saint, is a statement that undermines the chances of Akufo Addo for 2016.?
