Tigo brings excitement to Ghanaians this Easter

 Accra, April 10, GNA – Tigo Ghana celebrated Easter this year by bringing varied activities and special packages to Ghanaians across the country.

A statement signed on Tuesday by Kwame Buckman, Brands Assistant of Tigo to the Ghana News Agency, said the company in the Eastern region, joined the chiefs and people of Kwahu and their surrounding communities to celebrate their annual Easter festival in a spectacular way.

It said to support the Kwahu Traditional Council in organizing this year’s activities, Tigo made a cash donation and assorted Tigo souvenirs to the Kwahu Traditional Council.

“The company also partnered with Yfm and Adom fm to provide visitors with varied entertainment activities ranging from a Hi-Life concert with Ghanaian Hi life star Amakye Dede, a pool party at the Wags hotel, an Omo Tuo party at the ‘Eastern Palace’ and a Hip life concert with Hip life artiste such as Asem, Edem, D Black, OJ Black and many other exciting acts,” it said.

In Accra, Tigo joined the Madina District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Easter Monday to organize family fun games for all the Presby churches within the district. The gathering brought together over 3,000 congregants to take part in varied sporting activities such as tug of peace, football, volley ball and basketball competitions.

At Tamale, people were treated to a music carnival at the Kamina Barracks, with live performance by local artiste and other side attractions such as an Azonto dance competition.

“The people of Takoradi enjoyed a beach party on Easter Monday at the Funko beach. Djs from paragon fm were on rotation to provide good music and all the things that help make a great beach party, such as great food, volley ball and football competitions.”

Tigo also took the opportunity to reward its loyal subscribers in the ‘Tigo Easter promo’.

The promo offered subscribers the opportunity to answer questions on Easter and win Amazing prizes such as data enabled handsets with one week of unlimited internet access and Ghc2,000 each week. All subscribers had to do is send ‘TIGO’ to 6565 to start answering questions. This promo will run till the 10th of May, 2012.

Tigo Ghana’s Head of Marketing Services, Mr. Tenu Awoonor expressed the hope that Tigo gave Ghanaians the excitement and entertainment they expected this Easter holiday.
