Black Stars will not send their wives to the World Cup

Ghana?s team psychologist for the 2014 World Cup Professor Joseph Mintah has not submitted a proposal to the Ghana FA to consider allowing players to bring their wives or girlfriends to the tournament, the GFA has said in a statement.

The university lecturer cum football coach was reported in the local media to have proposed to the GFA for the Black Stars to send their wives and girlfriends to the tournament in Brazil.

But the GFA has issued a statement insisting that no such proposal has been received and will not consider it.

?The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has not received a proposal from the team psychologist of the Black Stars for wives of the players to be taken to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil,? the Ghana FA said in a statement.

?Media reports suggested on Friday suggested that Professor Joseph Mintah has proposed to the Black Stars for the wives and girlfriends of the players to be taken to the tournament in June.

?But the GFA wishes to state that Professor Mintah has not sent such a proposal to the Black Stars management committee for consideration.

?Professor Mintah has also stated that is not interested in making such a proposal to the GFA.?

With players bursting with energy, about six weeks without sex could indeed hamper their concentration.

Many religious followers of the Black Stars think that the presence of girlfriends will bring bad luck to the team as they are unmarried and could bring the wrath of God.
