It may have lost the glamour of previous years but any meeting of Ghana?s biggest teams is always a headliner and this Sunday, the two teams will face each other again.

Though bragging rights are always the largest things at stake, this weekend?s clash in the Glo Premier League will strongly affect how the season ends for these teams.

For Accra Hearts of Oak, beating Kotoko will be a very good reward for their form in the League in the 2013 calendar year and Coach David Duncan will certainly want a better result than the goalless draw the first meeting produced at the Baba Yara Stadium.

They have lost only one match in the second round and that was against another team from the Ashanti Region; AshantiGold in an exciting game at the Len Clay Stadium. Aside that blot, the Phobians have steadily racked points and are walking away from athe drop.

They lie 9th on the log with 32 points. Even more remarkable is the fact that the Phobians have not lost at home in the second round and that will inspire them to believe that they can add arch rivals, Kotoko, to a list that already has King Faisal, Berekum Arsenals, Heart of Lions, and Amidaus Professionals.

For Kotoko, the quest for a league and cup double means that anything less than 3 points will make the fans very unhappy and put Coach Mas-Ud Dramani under renewed pressure after the disappointment of exiting the CAF Champions League.

The Porcupine Warriors are just a point off the top on 41 points and their second round form has been far from imperious: four wins, three draws and a loss to King Faisal. However, they will be spurred on by the fact that a win could push them to the top of the league only if results involving Berekum Chelsea and Medeama SC go their way.

It will be a match full of individual battles from the touchline to the lush green pitch. Duncan will go against Dramani while Mahatma Otoo will hope to emerge as the better goal-getter against Kofi Nti-Boakye.

It is the Rainbow versus the Red Army. Roll on Derby Day!!!
