The mangled car of the fetish Priest

Four persons died on the spot last Saturday at Akote on the Suhum-Koforidua highway after a car belonging to a fetish priest run over four persons, who were standing by the roadside.

The first car- Toyota Camry initially run over two persons after a collision with a vehicle from the opposite direction. The other car also struck the other two.

The deceased have been identified as Abraham Amanor, 18, Sweetie Amanor, 15, Yawo Alato, 12, and Kwasi Agyei, 32.

The driver Kwame Asare, 26, who sustained severe injuries, is receiving treatment.

The Toyota Camry, said to be owned by a fetish priest, Nana Torbedzro with DVLA trial number DVLA-2014B, was on top speed at the time of the accident at about 5.45pm.

According to reports, the driver of the Toyota Camry overtook a Hyundai H-200 bus colliding thereafter with an oncoming vehicle.

The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital morgue pending autopsy.

An eyewitness Samson Tettey told DAILY GUIDE that a group of youth stormed the scene of the accident and set the Toyota Camry ablaze.

A team of police officers from the Suhum Division restored order and took the injured driver to a private hospital.

The youth had earlier blocked the road preventing the free flow of vehicular traffic to protest against over-speeding in the area.

That portion of the highway has witnessed a number of accidents owing to excessive speeding.

The chief of the area Baffour Okyerefo Kwapong and the assembly member are said to have written numerous letters appealing to the Suhum Ghana Highway Authority and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Samuel Felicher Kwabi, to mount speed ramps on that section of the road to prevent accidents.
