Mr Marnu stressed the need for Assembly members to visit their areas before and after the Assembly?s sessions, so that the electorate would be abreast with issues in the country, and the district in particular.

The DCE also advised Unit Committees and Area Council members, to collaborate with traditional rulers, to mobilize the people to initiate development programmes for the progress of their communities.

Mr Marnu announced that the Assembly had initiated a scholarship scheme to support brilliant but needy students to further their education, so as to become assets for the holistic development of the District.

He said currently about 50 Senior High Schools (SHS) students from selected communities were benefiting from the Scheme.

The DCE entreated parents and guardians to reduce frivolous expenditure on social events like funerals, and invest greater part of their monies in the education of their children, since that could be the best legacy parents could bequeath to their children
