As citizens continue to mourn the death of the former Minister of Information, Prof Dora Akunyili, a non-governmental organization-Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) has extolled the high patriotic zeal of the fallen amazon .

>> Nwosu noted that Akunyili’s exploits as the Director General of National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) was unprecedented and has become a benchmark for her successors to that office.

>> He pointed out that many lives that would have been wasted on the altar of greed and selfishness of some unscrupulous drug dealers who were notorious for fake and substandard products in the sector were all checkmated and as such prevented the danger of circulated such dangerous products in the nation’s drugs markets.

>> The TAN chief said that a good number of men would have thrown in the towel when there was a serious heat from the alleged fake drugs’ dealers who felt threatened by the patriotic activities of Akunyili’s led drugs agency.

>> Akunyili, Nwosu noted, gave a very positive image to The nation through her novel rebranding project, as Minister of Information and Culture; noting that the rebranding efforts came at a time when the nation’ s image was thoroughly battered through negative practices and publications.

>> He said further that the nation will not forget in a hurry Prof Akunyili’s contribution to the Petroleum Trust Fund when the former military head of state, Gen Mohammed Buhari was in charge of the PTF.

>> Barr Nwosu said further that the positive contribution of the late professor towards the nation building came to the fore again when she played a pivotal role of addressing the leadership crises the country was thrown into when the former president, Alhaji Umar
>> Yar’adua was indisposed.

>> He said further that the late professor of Pharmacy continued to serve her fatherland dutifully until? death beckoned as she was the nation’s constitutional conference not minding her delicate health status. He stressed the need for all Nigerians now singing her praise to emulate the deceased professor by demonstrating a passionate commitment to the national values and orientation. He said that by so doing, Akunyili labour toward the building of a new Nigeria would not be in vain.
