Assistant Commissioner of Police Moses Atibilla told a Kaneshie District Court, presided over by Mrs Adwoa Akyaamaa Ofosu that the accused person had been served with a bill of indictment.

He expressed the hope that the committal process would take place at the next adjourned date to enable the trial to begin in the high court.

The accused person is being held for allegedly raping a 19-year-old woman, an offence he has denied.

Mr Tony Forson, one of the counsels for the accused person, confirmed that his client was served with the document.

Meanwhile, a human rights court in Accra has granted him bail on humanitarian grounds in the sum of GH? 20, 000 with two sureties.

The court granted the bail because counsel for the accused person filed supplementary affidavits on January, 6 and further affidavits on January 8, 2015 supported by a medical report.

The case has been adjourned to February 5.
