Stanbic Bank Presents GHC20, 000 Cheque To Ghana Armed Forces Command

Stanbic Bank Ghana has presented a cheque for GHC20, 000 to support the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) to procure computers to improve its Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Stanbic.jpg15308Mr Mawuko Afadzinu, Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Bank, said the bank was happy to be associated with the progress and creativity of the College and the quality leadership it was offering.

?This presentation shows our commitment to security and quality leadership. One of the key elements in the transformation of Africa is how we are led and we are supportive of that in every possible way. In addition, we are also supportive of the latest trends in ICT. That is why we are investing our resource, personnel and capability,? Mr Afadzinu said.

The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) was established in 1963 to train officers of the Ghana Armed Forces and allied officers of Africa in command and staff responsibilities.

In recent times, the College has opened up its academic division to the public for the Master of Science Degree Programme in Defence and International Politics.

Receiving the cheque and computers, Air Vice Marshal Issifu Sakib Kadri, Commandant of the GAFCSC, pledged the institution?s commitment to promote excellence and professionalism among servicemen in the country and its affiliates.

He said the College had instituted various initiatives to ensure a gradual roll-out of its e-environment and to become a centre of excellence as well as one of the leading Staff Colleges on the continent.

He said the computers would not only inure to the benefit of GAF but to the general public as well.

?Stanbic has always supported the college and today is just one of such significant steps. This technology will not only benefit the army but also the general public,? he said.
