Southern Leaders’ Summit to be hosted by Cross River State

SSGs and other senior representatives of the South-east, South-south and South-west?
States met in Enugu recently to finalize plans for the upcoming Southern Leaders’ Summit to be hosted by the Cross River State on?24 February, 2014?in Calabar.?

The Summit, in which each state would have twenty-five delegates is strictly on invitation and would discuss inter-alia, common interest of the people’s of the three southern geopolitical zones.

The Summit is being co-convened by Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State, Gov.Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State and Gov. Peter Obi of Anambra State.

Those who attended the Enugu planning meeting included Commissioner Remi Olatubora of Ondo, Elder Eugene Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Sir E.E. Ogidi-Gbegbaje of Delta, and SSGs P. Amaechi Okolo of Enugu, Mike Anaih of? Cross River and Oseloka H. Obaze of Anambra.

It would be recalled that some of the Governors of the participating states met in Awka on 27 December 2013 and resolved to convene the summit to discuss issues germane to their common interest ahead of the envisaged National Conference.
