South African Airways To Launch Non-stop Flight Service From Accra To washington

The South African Airways will be launching a straight route and a non-stop flight service from Accra to Washington D.C. The launching of its new route will be done on August 2, 2015.

Accra4The launch of this new service is to considerably reduce travel times for customers and also enable travelers experience 4 Star Skytrax rated airline service to North America, which the company noted offers world-class quality, product and service standards.
At a news conference to unveil the plans for the introduction of its new route ad services, Kendy Phohleli, South Africa Airways Executive for Africa Hub Projects, indicated that the new non-stop, straight route from Accra to Washington will be served by its A340-600s aircraft with 42 full-flat 180 beds in Premium Business Class and 275 seats in Economy Class.
Kendy Phohleli said, the development is part of the Airline’s Long-term Turnaround Strategy where it sets growth of the African continent as one of its key objectives.
He averred that having a strong presence in West Africa, customers will have access to further destinations in West Africa through their airline partnerships.
Kendy Phohleli also explained that South Africa Airways’ decision to route some North American bound flights to Ghana was based on sound business principles since there have been demands for passenger wanting to fly from Ghana to the U.S directly.
“Connecting the two countries now made possible with the granting of traffic rights by the Ghana government, will aid existing trade relations and further strengthen Ghana’s robust economic outlook and its imminent AGOA status,” he added.
He has also revealed that South Africa Airways has established partnership with domestic Ghanaian carrier, where customers will be offered more travelling options within the West African region.
“SAA entered into a bi-lateral code-share agreement with Africa World Airlines, the fastest growing airline in Ghana which operates domestic and regional flights in West Africa,” he said.
This partnership, he stressed, will give customers from Washington and Johannesburg seamless connectivity through Accra to other destinations in Ghana such as Kumasi, Takoradi ad Tamale.
According to Kendy Phohleli South Africa Airways is still operationally strong and has a proud safety record and excellent on time performance.
