The Second Ghana Poetry Festival is scheduled to take place on the 6th of June, 2015 at the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA) House, Roman Ridge. The theme for this year?s poetry event is ?Promoting poetry in Ghana; the role of stakeholders?. This year?s which promises to be very exciting and educating event will kick off with a Poets Forum in the morning (10am). This will be a two-hour round table discussion made up of three segments with each dealing with particular topics;

?Publishing in Ghana: Then, Now and the Future?.

This discussion will highlight the Challenges facing Ghana?s publishing industry, how locally published poetry books can gain global attention, how the new media can be used as an innovation in promoting Ghanaian poetry. The Panel will comprise Dr. Mawuli Adzei (Author of The Jewel of Kabibi, Taboo and Testament of Season and academician), Mr. Woeli Dekutsey (Publisher, Woeli Publishing), Cecilia Sefa Amoafowaa (Poet & Self-Published Author) and Bernard Kelvin Clive (On-line Publisher). The host will be Nana Nyarko Boateng (Gird Writing Centre)

?The State of Ghana?s Poetry In A Global World: Ghanaian Poetry; On the rise or free fall? & how do we introduce the new generation of Ghanaian poets?

Host: Apiorkor Seyiram Ashong Panelists: The Panel in this segment will also comprise Martin Egblewogbe (Lecturer, University of Ghana and host of Writers Project on Citi fm), Mr. Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng (President, Ghana Association of Writers) and Prof. Kofi Anyidoho (Lecturer, University of Ghana, Published Poet & International Author)

Under the Round Table Discussion, every participant would contribute after a brief submission by the panelists.

After the Round Table Discussion, will be an Open Mic segment, ?Open-Mic Marathon? which will give a platform for everyone who seeks to do his or her poetry. There will also be ?The Blast A Balloon & Read Its Content?.

Ti-kon-kon ti-kon (Once Upon Our Poetry Scene) With Dr. Mawuli Adzei and Prof. Kofi Anyidoho will then follow with the host being Chieff Moomen, a young renowned Ghanaian poet.

One important segment of the festival will be the Honouring of young Ghanaian Poets/groups by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, for their immense contribution towards the growth of poetry in Ghana.

Then after, there will be poetry readings/Spoken word performances and rehearsed Dramatic Poetry performances including the enactment of poems by Dr. Mawuli Adzei. There will be also be Exhibition & Sales of Poetry works?books, audio, visuals, frames, etc?the whole day.
