Samuel Inkoom wants to make a huge impact at Bastia like Michael Essien.

Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom wants to leave a lasting legacy at French club Bastia just like compatriot; Michael Essien did thirteen years ago.

Essien, owned by Chelsea but on loan at Spanish giants Real Madrid, started his professional career in Europe with the Blues.

He went on to make 66 first team appearances for Bastia and scored 11 goals during his three-year stay.

Bastia benefitted immensely when they transferred the midfield enforcer to French giants Olympique Lyon in 2003.

He however remains a cult figure at Bastia where Inkoom is currently on loan from Ukrainian club FC Dnipro.

The right-back now hopes to emulate the heroics of Essien while with the French Ligue 1 side.

?They adore him (Essien) and I am very proud knowing what he did here,? he told the 90 minutes newspaper.

?He?s a hero here and I hope to leave here one day as a hero too.?
