The 25-year-old suspected killer of Rosemond Nyampong, a staff of Stanbic Bank Ghana, has been speaking with DAILY GUIDE, saying he was influenced by friends and promised a sum of GH?10,000.

The suspect, Abraham Kwame Oyotey Baah revealed that ?a woman, chocolate in complexion, told me, Kofi and Emma, who are my friends that Rosemond was disturbing her at the workplace and wanted us to kill her, and so with the advice of my friends, we planned and killed the woman?.

According to him, even though he was not directly involved in the killing of the Stanbic Bank staff, he provided information about her movements to the alleged killers as an informant.

Abraham said the woman, whose name and place of abode he failed to mention, wore spectacles and used a black Toyota Prado to meet them at Coastal Estates on the Spintex Road to plan the act.

Abraham, in an exclusive interview with DAILY GUIDE in his cells at Sakumono Police Station said, ?I was not involved in the killing, but the role I played was to give information about the movements of Rosemond since my father lives adjacent her house and I knew her very well.?

Queried about the victim?s stolen items found in his room at his father?s house, Abraham, who pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive him, explained that ?I got the items from Emma, the one who killed the woman with his bare hands, at his house in Somanya and the car was my share of the booty?.

He mentioned that because he was scared to bring the car home, he decided to leave it with his friends at a washing bay at Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region for three days before attempting to go for it.

According to him, ?I was not happy when they first told me about the killing of the woman but because I heard about the money and with the advice of my friends, I decided to be part of it. Moreover I was not the one who was going to kill her so I only told them about the activities of Rosemond.

?I know I did a mistake by not reporting the matter to the police initially when the woman and my friends contacted me, but I want my family and that of Rosemond to forgive me. I am ready to assist the police with any information for the arrest of my friends. I only want them to believe what I have been telling them and act upon the information,? he stated.

Abraham admonished Ghanaians, especially the youth, to be wary of friends and always try to work hard to achieve whatever they aspire to do instead of attempting to get rich quickly.

According to him, because he lost his job sometime ago, he wanted to use the money to establish some business to start life afresh.

The body of Rosemond Nyampong, a 32-year-old staff of the Credit Department at Stanbic Bank head office, was found in a pool of blood at her kitchen.

Items such as a home theatre system, laptops, mobile phones, a plasma television set and other valuables belonging to the deceased were found in the room of the suspect.

Police intelligence helped in retrieving her stolen Toyota Yaris saloon car with registration number GT 5133-10 at Odumase Krobo in the Lower Manya District of the Eastern Region at a washing bay.

Surveillance was mounted by the police and when Abraham appeared at the washing bay to retrieve the vehicle, he was immediately arrested.

The vehicle?s number plate and stickers were said to have been kept in the letter box together with the ID card of the deceased in the vehicle.
