?Begs Nana Konadu to return to NDC

RawlingsThe 8th National Delegates Congress of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially opened at the Baba Yara sports stadium, Kumasi with a call on party faithfuls to uphold principles of truth, integrity and people centeredness as they elect capable men and women to stir the affairs of the party ahead of election 2016.

Former President J.J. Rawlings, founder of the NDC made the recommendations when he addressed expectant party supporters amidst shouts of acclamation at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

He cautioned the party to avoid playing an Ostrich role to overlook the economic and social challenges confronting the nation.

He urged delegates to pursue values of selflessness and truth as they cast their votes.

Former president Rawlings also called on the party to reinstitute the annual delegates? congress to allow for what he called ?soul searching discussions? to address party internal issues.

According to him, it is only the NDC that can destroy itself rather than any other external force and the choices they make today will determine the future of the party.

?No enemy is big enough to destroy us, it is our own internal enemies who can,? Mr Rawlings stated.

He called on his wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang, a former First Vice Chairperson of the party who separated herself and formed another party different from that of the husband to consider a comeback as she has been gravely missed.
