The Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu Mr Alexander Afenyo Markin has called on Ghanaians to put their political sentiment and ethnic affiliations aside and let the growth and developments of the Nation be their top most priority.

He said ? there is only one Ghana that we have and we must be proud to be her citizens and contribute our quota to ensure that the development and growth that we need is achieved?.

Mr Markin made the call at the 57th Independent Celebration Parade held at Winneba.

The MP urged the people to desist from hiding behind politics to misbehave and create problems in the country, rather fight to lay a good moral foundation for posterity.

He urged his constituents especially land owners and chiefs who sold land haphazardly to put a stop to such practices adding that if care was not taken, in future lands needed for development would be a problem.

He therefore appealed to the chiefs and land owners to establish land banks for potential investors and for other developmental ventures in the Municipality and added that stakeholders of Effutu should come together as one people to forge ahead towards the development of the area.

The MP emphasized there was the need for parents in the area to use their limited monies for the education of their children rather than using such them on litigation, chieftaincy fights and other things that would not help them in future.

Mr Markin said without education there would not be future for the children and urged parents to ensure that the children acquired holistic and quality education in another for them to be able to function effectively in society.

He advised the pupils to take their education seriously rather than to indulge in immoral activities that would not help their development in future. GNA
