Ahead the African Youth Championship in Tanzania, Players and officials of Nigeria U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, have been put through psychology and refereeing classes.

Veteran FIFA and CAF instructor Linus Mba took the team on the basic rules and the regulations of the game, from fair play to comportment on the pitch, while Super Eagles psychologist Robinson Okosun delivered a paper on the various human characters.

Okosun will also take the players individually in an effort to ensure they relate very well with their fellow players and officials. ?We have gained a lot from these classes and we believe this can only make us a better team,? said goalkeeper Samuel Okani.

Okosun said he was most impressed with the response he received from the team. ?This was the first such exercise for the team except for one player, who has undergone such a class at his club in Europe.

And from the quality of the questions I received, I?m really excited that they can shape their character into becoming champions, both on and off the pitch,? said the Eagles psychologist.

Nigeria U20s take on their Tanzanian counterparts on July 28 in a first leg qualifying match for the 2013 African Youth Championship that will be staged in Algeria.
