President John Mahama And Lee Ocran Denying Our Youth A Bright Future

0

President John Mahama and Lee Ocran the Minister of Education do not believe in free education for Senior High School students. They say it will take 20 years to implement free Senior High School education.

The strange thing is these men benefited from free education yet they seek to deny millions of young Ghanaians this right that will give them a voice and brighten their futures.

The NDC calls itself a social democratic party yet they are not interested in putting the welfare of the masses first. For Lee Ocran and President Mahama it is only after they are dead, before children ,who are the future leaders of tomorrow can have access to free education. This coming from a president and a minister we use our sweat and blood to pay their salaries.

We challenge John Mahama, Lee Orcran and the NDC to produce a policy that can match the benefits of free secondary education. They do not even listen or respect the views of their own party members and supporters like Dr Asemforo who have said that if they had the opportunity to go to secondary school they could be holding positions within the NDC or perhaps even lead the party. They prefer to be elitist and keep power, privilege and opportunities to themselves

President Mahama, Lee Ocran and their NDC colleagues are happy to spend 842 million Ghana cedis paying fraudulent judgment?s debt to the likes of Alfred Agbesi Woyome. They give sovereign guarantees worth 264 million dollars to Koreans but they are not happy to invest in the leaders of tomorrow.

Lee Ocran and his boss President John Mahama are happy to send a few Ghanaians most of whom are relatives and cronies to Cuba, a country with limited resources offering free secondary and University education for its citizens at the cost of over 100 million dollars yet they are not prepared to invest in the wider majority of our youth in Ghana. And the President calls himself a youth!

President Mahama and his NDC colleagues can find money to light flames at the independence square and the heroes revolutionary square celebrating coup anniversaries calling Ghana the black star of Africa, but are we really when tiny Lesotho spends 13% of its GDP on education, and Uganda and Kenya have implemented free secondary education programmes?

We can find money to create Asomdwe parks for the dead, rear geese and peacocks to swan around yet we can?t find money to educate the living.

Free Secondary education is necessary and the NPP if voted into office will implement it just as it implemented the free school feeding programme, the National Health Insurance scheme and Metro Mass Transit when it was previously in office.

President Mahama, Lee Ocran and the NDC can put their pockets first. We will put Ghana?s children and future first.
