Police personnel have been cautioned against discrimination in the course of their duties.
They are to allow the law to take its course without favouring others based on the political party, ethnic group, religion or race they belong toGhana police logo.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nathan Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander gave the warning at the 2014 West African Security Social Activity (WASSA) in Kumasi on Friday.
?You have been mandated to implement the law by protecting lives and property but not to discriminate,? he stated.
Mr Boakye said personnel, who carry out their duties without fear or favour but firmly, would be protected by the police administration.
The Police would always target criminals for innocent citizens to go about their duties without any hindrances, the Commander added.
He advised criminals to change their way of living as the police would not compromise their stance of unnecessary intimidation and assured that the police command would re-launch its efforts to make the lives of the people peaceful.
The Commander assured the people in the region that the police would not relent but would bring crime to the barest minimum and called for the public?s support.
