The chairman of the Bolgatanga Central Constituency of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr. Lawrence Anamolga has joined the Progressive People’s Party (PPP).

Mr. Lawrence Anamolga announced his decision when the PPP leadership led by the party’s 2012 standard bearer, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, toured the Upper East Region as part of the party’s nationwide tour last week.

Indeed Mr. Anamolga joined the PPP during its tour of Bolgatanga, the Upper East capital. In fact the former PNC chair assumed a leadership role by introducing the PPP to some well noted chiefs and people of the Bolga metropolis.

Sources within Bolgatanga hinted the leadership of the PPP that Mr. Anamolga is one of the most respectable politicians in the Upper East Region, particularly Bolga, and had in the past played significant role in ensuring that the PNC won the Bolga Central seat.

He was the star attraction when residents and indigenes of the town saw him on the PPP entourage, adding value to the euphoria that the PPP generated during the party’s tour of the Bolgatanga Central Constituency.

Mr. Anamolga explained that he considers the PPP, the best alternative to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who although had not dominated much the Bolgatanga Central seat, but had between them shared all power within the 20 years that the country had seen democratic rule.

According to him, although the PPP is an infant party, it has demonstrated a steel and strong character that easily marks it out as the only party capable of challenging the hegemonic hold of NDC and the NPP on the country’s body-politic.

Mr. Anamolga seized the opportunity to introduce his son, Robert Anamolga, as the PPP parliamentary candidate for the Bolgatanga Central constituency. The introduction of Robert Anamolga to the constituents received thunderous applause from places that the PPP visited in the Bolgatanga Central constituency.

Mr. Anamolga, the PPP further gathered, was challenged to join the PPP because of the party’s grassroots oragnisation.

“I very much believe in the grassroots organisation being embarked on by the PPP. It shows how the PPP is committed to solving problems of the ordinary Ghanaian”, Mr. Anamolga declared.

In the opinion of the resigned Bolga PNC chairman, the change that Ghanaians have been yearning for can only be brought by the PPP.

Mr. Anamolga was instrumental in the PNC’s wining of the Zebilla and Bolga constituencies in the Upper East Region in recent times.

The leadership of the PPP welcomed the decision by the Bolga PNC chairman to join the PPP, stressing that it affirms how Ghanaians see the PPP as the party that can help improve their lots.
