Peoples Democratic Party will win 80% of all elective positions

Niger State governor Babanginda Aliyu ?on Wednesday expressed the hope that the Peoples Democratic Party will win 80% of all elective positions slated for the general elections next year.
Aliyu who stated this in Minna after he swore in 14 new permanent secretaries at the council chambers on said the party has put all the necessary machinery in motion to monitor voting in all the polling units in the state.
He explained that those that will be assigned with the responsibility of monitoring the election would be made to account for their stewardship by the party after the elections.
The governor said that the Constitution did not bar any civil servant from belonging to political parties but added that the civil service rules makes it mandatory for civil servants to be neutral and work with any government in power.
He however admonished the new permanent secretaries to ensure they do not run a foul of the law as doing so will exposed their families to embarrassment.
“Anytime you do something wrong it is the family that suffers first.”
He also told them to do their best towards ensuring that the state achieved its dream of becoming one of the top three most developed states in the country by the year 2020.
Governor Aliyu said as the most senior civil servants in the civil service they should not be afraid to speak the truth and advice their commissioners in line with the law.
Among those sworn in by Chief Magistrate Bilkisu Gambo Yussuf include the Director in the office of the Secretary to the state government, alhaji Danladi Abubakar Buhari, a former Director Finance Government house Hamisu Jankaro and three women.
