Otoase Residents Threatened With Ejection

• To Give Way For Kwabena Adjei’s Killer Project

Life  of the people  of Otoase,  a farming  community  in the Eastern  Region  is in danger  as   they are  threatened with  eviction by the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] Dr. Kwabema Adjei to carry  out  a stone  quarry  project in the area.

wpid-kwabenaadjei.jpgBut information reaching The Moment from the area indicates that the Member of Parliament of area, Hon Samuel Aye Paye is strongly against the alleged project and has vowed tooth and nail to do anything possible in his capacity as the MP of the area to ensure that the project does not see the light of day because when that happens it will affect the livelihood of the people in the area.

According   to the MP, the rock, which the NDC National Chairman intends to blast for the project serves as the only source of drinking water through which the water source flows.

A visit  by  The Moment  to the area  reveled  that  most of   the houses located  around  the rock  had already be earmarked for demolishing, warning  residents in the area to vacate  their legitimate places of abode  for  the project to commence.

When contacted in a telephone interview, the MP, Hon. Samuel Aye Paye hinted that if allowed to commence, the project will have dire health consequences on the people living in and around the area.

Meanwhile,   the queen mother of the area, Nana  Awo Aboama II has also vowed that the people of Otoase will not allow their heritage site bequeathed  to them by their ancestors for survival to be destroyed by any individual for his selfish gains.

However, attempts to contact Dr. Kwabema Adjei proved futile, as calls placed on his mobile phone were not answered.
