Okaikoi South NDC Parliamentary candidate launches campaign

Accra, March 5, GNA – Mr Alexander Ackuaku, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Okaikoi South, at the weekend launched his campaign with the mission of developing the human resource base of the constituency.

The occasion characterised by glamour and entertaining scenes was attended by party faithful, traditional and religious leaders and well wishers of the candidate.

Mr Ackuaku noted that the constituency over the years had not received any development under the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and it was now time to have a change of leadership in order to benefit from the development agenda of the NDC.

He stressed: “The time has come for the constituency to change the New Patriotic Party and vote for the NDC, which has the development of every individual of the country at heart.”

Mr Ackuaku assured supporters that he would not let them down when voted as the Member of Parliament for the constituency, saying “I would do my best to ensure that our people live comfortably, devoid of any hardship during my tenure”.

The parliamentary candidate urged all members to turn up massively during the upcoming biometric registration exercise in order for them to be registered and vote for the party for development and a better Ghana agenda season two.

Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of the party’s communication team said the NPP had taken over the seat for too long, but cannot boast of any single developmental project in the constituency, indicating that the NDC this year must stand firm in order to improve the living conditions of the people.

He said the opposition has no issues to campaign on and capitalising on the Alfred Woyome’s judgement scandal and the size and price of kenkey.

Mr Ofosu urged the candidate to campaign and focus on issues, especially the good developmental works of the President.

He asked members of the party to be united and love one another to emerge as one united front with the goal to fight for the seat and bring development to the door steps of the people.

Mr Jerry Akwei Thompson, Regional Organiser of the party called on members and leaders of the NDC not to result to insults as their campaign strategy, but to be truthful to their people, and vote wisely in the upcoming elections.
