Oil Firm Applauds Delta Govt on Peace Initiative

Managing Director of Energia Limited, Engr. A.V Felix says his company was proud to be part of the efforts of the Delta State Government in blazing the trail for peace.

MD of Energia Limited, operator of OML 56, Ebendo-Obodeti Marginal Field in Ndokwa West Local Government of Delta State commended the Delta State Government for its peace initiatives and its efforts in promoting peaceful and harmonous relationship between oil bearing communities and Oil and Gas operators.

The Managing Director of the indigenous Oil firm, Engr. Amieyeofori Felix gave the commendation during an interview session with journalists shortly after the Deputy Governor of Delta State Prof. Amos Utuama SAN, inaugurated a 12 man Standing Committee to resolve the strained relationship and intractable conflict between two neighbouring Communities, Emu-Ebendo and Obodougwa-Ogume at the Governor?s Office annex, Warri over the week.

Speaking through the Community Relations Manager Of Energia Limited, Mr Hakeem Akintoye, the Delta State Government was applauded for the proactive innovation in setting mechinary in place towards amicablr resolution of all contentious issues.

The MD who was visibly elated by the Peace pally said the dispute between both communities had led to the disruption of the company?s operations in the past and sued for the cooperation of all parties.

Speaking further, the MD disclosed that as a responsible Cooperate organization,  they are proud to be associated with Delta State Government concerted efforts in promoting peace within its area of operations

Engr. Amieyeofori Felix while promising his company?s commitments in encouraging dialogue and peaceful co-existence assured the communities of Energias irrevocable resolve to discharge its cooperate social responsibilities to them.

?A conducive and peaceful environment is key and a major factor for any business conglomerate to succeed. For us in Energia Limited, we commend this giant initiative that would finally address all contending issues. We are totally committed to this novel peace initiative? the MD said.

It would be recalled that the inauguration of the peace Committee was sequel to series of mediation meetings through the Department of Peoples? Rights of the Delta State Ministry of Justice where all parties  including representatives of both communities had signed an MOU as a road map to peaceful settlement of the dispute without recourse to breach of public peace and disruption of the Company?s operations.

To serve as Chairman of the 12 man committee is Vincent Omorie (Esq.) Special Assistant to the Governor on community matters while Omamuzo Erebe Esq. Director Department of People?s Rights will serve as the secretary
