Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has blessed ex-Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah for his selfless service to Ghana football ahead of the 34-year-old?s Testimonial Match on June 27.

Nyantakyi assured the former Juventus and Fenerbache star that the Ghana FA Executive Committee will not only be at the Accra Stadium, but will also make a cash contribution to the event.

Appiah retired from active football in January and will hold a testimonial game on June 27 in honour of his illustrious career. He has already invited former presidents J.J. Rawlings and J.A. Kufuor to the game.

Appiah was in Kumasi on Wednesday to invite Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to his testimonial game.

Speaking at Manhyia, he said it will be sacrilegious if he did not invite the Ashanti King, considering how influential Kumasi has been in the success story of the Black Stars.

Appiah?s testimonial will see the likes of Roberto Baggio, Pavel Nedved, George Boateng, Nwakwo Kanu, J.J. Okocha, George Weah, Sulley Muntari, Peter Ofori Quaye and many other international stars take on the Black Stars team at the Accra Sports Stadium on June 27.
