The National Road Safety Commission (NRSC),  has been commended for its approach in tackling and helping to control road traffic fatalities in the country.

Prof Stephen Adei, a former Rector of  Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), who made the commendation on Friday, said NRSC collaboration with stakeholders in the transport sector is highly recommendable since it had curbed road crashes.

The former Rector was interacting with management and staff of the NRSC at the on-going one-week performance review meeting of the Commission, underway at Fumesua, in the Kumasi Metropolis on Friday.

It is on the theme: ?Scaling up towards the attainment of 2011-2013 action plans objectives, no excuse.?

Prof Adei emphasised the need for the NRSC to continue to bring on board stakeholders in road safety education to identify and addressed basic road safety challenges, and adopt pragmatic and innovative methods that would enable the commission to achieve its target in road safety education and reducing road crashes as well.

Mrs Mary Obiri-Yeboah, Executive Director of the NRSC charged its regional offices to involve especially the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority  and the Motor Traffic and Transport Union of Ghana Police Service in all their activities.
