Dr Vanderpuije said government commitment towards the total welfare of the Ghanaian child, it was imperative for stakeholders to also champion the cause in quality education for the children to enable them to become useful to society in future.

?We must supervise by ourselves the content of education our children get from their schools in order for them to come out with academic excellence,? he said.

Mrs Angela Tina Mensah, Metro Director of Education of the Ghana Education Service, said quality teaching was not the responsibility of teachers alone but parents and the community have a role to play.

She promised to ensure an effective maintenance culture, to protect the building when completed, adding that: ?I am convinced that when this new building is completed it would open an opportunity for teachers and the school children to perform better.?
