Mr Gibrine Tanko Toye, Vice Chairman of the Agona West Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said that with the selection of a flag bearer for the party, members should put the past behind them, and forge ahead in unity for the party to win power in 2016.

Mr Toye made these remarks when he addressed the Press after the election of Nana Akufo Addo as the Presidential Candidate of the NPP at Agona Swedru.

He said the peaceful manner in which the elections were conducted had proved that NPP really understood internal democracy, despite initial accusations.

In the Agona West, Nana Akufo Addo polled 654 votes as against five and three votes by Mr Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, and Mr Francis Addai Nimo respectively

Mr Toye said the massive votes for Nana Akufo Addo indicated that NPP would defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next general elections.

Mr Kwadwo Addo , Agona West Constituency Chairman of the party, said elections are over and called on the rank and file of the Party to rally behind the winning Candidate to ensure total victory in the 2016.

He called on NPP supporters to work extra hard, adding that without hard work it would be difficult to achieve the objectives of the party.

At Gomoa Central, Mr Benjamin Otoo, Constituency Chairman, urged the electorate to change their voting pattern in the 2016 elections.

He said people in the Gomoa East and West Districts are still wallowing in poverty, adding that it is NPP that can salvage the economy to reduce the unjustified hardships created by the NDC administration.

At Agona East, Mr Dennis Armah ?Frempong, Constituency Chairman urged supporters of Mr Kyerematen and Mr Addai Nimo to forget the past, now that elections are over..

He said the NPP is the only party that can liberate Ghanaians from their present predicaments.
