The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will rally behind the Movement For Change (MFC), a pressure group within the party to embark on the intended demonstration to be held later this month.wpid-npp-flag.jpg

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr Samuel Pyne, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP and made available to the Ghana News Agency, in Kumasi on Tuesday.
The MFC last week announced its intention to organize a demonstration against the government on the current erratic power supply in the country.
The ?Ya bre? demonstration, scheduled to take place in the Kumasi metropolis on February 24, this year, is also in protest against the refusal of the government to reduce fuel prices in-spite of continuous reduction of the prices of the product on the international market.
It is also to offer opportunity for the people to register their displeasure against the general economic hardships in the country as a result of incompetency, mismanagement and corruption in the ruling government.
?The party is concerned about the general hardship and the uncaring attitude of the president and the National Democratic Party (NDC) to the cries of the people over fuel prices?, the statement pointed out.
It called on political parties, civil society groups, traditional authorities and all religious groupings to support this just cause to tell the government to work towards reducing the current hardships facing the people.
