The planned National Thanksgiving Service by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been postponed.

No reason has been assigned for the deferment of the event which was originally scheduled to take place at the National Theatre on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.

The event formed part of activities to render appreciation to God for seeing the party through a successful national delegates? conference which saw the election of veteran Nana Akufo-Addo as the NPP?s flagbearer ahead of the 2016 elections.

Nana Akufo-Addo after a meeting with party elders last week, where he introduced Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as running mate for the third time, announced; ?the Party will hold an interdenominational service at the National Theatre, also to seek God?s blessings on the Party and on our ticket, and to thank Him for the peace and success of the primary?.

However, a two-paragraphed-release signed by Deputy Communications Director, Pius Enam Ahadzie Tuesday, October 29, 2014, stated the event has been called off.

?It is hereby announced for the information of the General public and members of the New Patriotic Party that the National Thanksgiving Service of the NPP scheduled for Tuesday, 4th November 2014 has been postponed?.

The statement indicated ?A new date will be announced in due course?.
