A Norwegian aid worker diagnosed with Ebola while working in Sierra Leone arrived Tuesday to her native Norway and was rushed to Oslo University Hospital for treatment.

ebolaA special convoy – comprising several ambulances and escorted by police outriders – transported her from Oslo Airport after her arrival on a chartered ambulance plane.

The 32-year-old contracted the virus while working in the city of Bo in Sierra Leone for the international medical group Medecins Sans Frontieres.

She was placed in isolation on Sunday after developing a fever.

Cathrine Lofthus, deputy chief executive of the Oslo University Hospital, declined to describe the patient’s condition, noting that such information is privileged.
