Ahead of the inauguration of a new government of Nigeria under Muhammadu Buhari, Onitsha based gospel evangelist, Theo Rays has tasked Nigerians on the very best ways of appreciating the immense love of God upon the country, declaring that “it is time for us as citizens of this country to imbibe in the culture of selfless service to the father land, that is to be honest, truthful, disciplined, transparent and accountable in service in appreciation of goodness and mercies of God to the nation over the years”.

unnamed (20)He noted that going by the successful conduct of 2015 elections, Nigerians must rise up to the occasion of showing that God love them as a people by spurning corrupt practices and be fair to each other, adding, “God did it for us, I mean seeing us through to the successful conduct of the elections and we must appreciate it with good characters that naturally please the Almighty and by so doing heal the nation off problems that have continued to threaten its being”.

Speaking on a topic titled: Time to heal Nigeria, at a service in Onitsha Sunday, Rays who informed that God has called him with a mandate to address problems of life globally, told Nigerians that appreciating God is not all about organizing thanksgiving service in the church with offering of money and cows and throwing up lavish party thereafter, asserting that appreciating God involves being honest, truthful, disciplined, transparent and accountable in rendering servicing to the people.

He explained that God has a laid down precept of nation building in the principle of love one another and what it required of Nigerians is to go a step further in learning from the word of God and also from history about how developed countries were able succeed, adding that he has a mandate from God to drive converts into the good knowledge of life inline with what is written in the Bible.

The Evangelist observed that the problem of Nigeria varies in lack of good ideas on the side of the leaders in particular and lack of capacity to do things aright inline with the principle and character of fear of God and love for humanity for the purpose of nation building among the citizens generally, pointing out that religious leaders that controls the lager society have failed to build people into such capacity.

The man of God, said that religious leaders as closer messengers of God must rise up to fight the problems and not aid them by collaborating with corrupt politicians saying, “they have the responsibilities to dig deep and source out ideas and information that would end Boko Haram and take Nigeria to the path of solution to its problems, it is expected of leaders of various religious groups to use their close representatives in the National Assembly to champion bills that are good enough to make positive impact on the lives of the masses.

The Onitsha based evangelist, noted with dismay, that Nigeria is failing because the citizens even as Christians and Moslems have continued to fail to realize that serving God involves being honest and truthful with your country and its people in everything we do and not just paying religious dues, going to pilgrimage, doing thanksgiving as enshrined by denominational doctrine or as directed by the leaders.

“The salvation of God lies on how one relates to humanity in terms of being fair, honest and truthful to your country, your town, your village and your immediate neighbors depending on the level you find yourself, it is as simple as that, God cannot grant you salvation because you contributed to Church building with money you stole from public fund. The Church will always accept such money on the basis of being innocent about how you made the money, but you cannot cheat God” he continued
