Two Nigerian baseball players Samson Adeyemi and Adamu Abubakar have been selected by the Major League Baseball, MLB, to its elite camp holding in Durban, South African before the end of December this year.
Mr Jason Hollowatty, Director Market Development, EMEA, MLB who passed this information to Nigeria also requested for cooperation of the Nigerian fedration in ensuring that the two players will make the trip to South Africa.
The selection of the players by the MLB was based on an evaluation of Nigerian players in a tryout/clinic that was conducted in Ilorin, Nigeria, by MLB few months ago.
The tryout was attended by more than 40 elite players from different parts of Nigeria.
MLB is the organisation that overseas professional baseball in the United States and the main purpose of the elite camp is to prepare young African players for professional baseball.
