The Christian Mothers? Association, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) has presented items worth GH?5,000 to inmates of the Ngani Witches camp in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region.

The items include used clothes, footwear, cooking utensils, cartons of soap, towels etc.
Madam Elizabeth Addai-Boateng, Executive Secretary of Christian Mothers? Association who presented the items, said the association visited the camp in September last year to acquaint themselves with the plight of the alleged witches hence the donation.
She said the items were donations from various Parishes in New York, USA.
Madam Philomena Ashun Sarpy, Project Officer of the Association, assured the inmates of the NGO’s continued support and advised them to unite.

She stated that similar items will also be donated to other witches camp in Gusheigu Kpatinga, Nabuni in Chereponi, and the Kukuo in Bimbilla, all in the Region and appealed to other NGOs to support the camps to improve on the lives of the inmates.
Alhassan Shei Tindana, an inmate, said the camp has 272 women, 118 men and about 671 children who were related to the inmates.
He thanked the Association for their kind gesture.
