?Murtala Mohammed, Nnamdi Azikiwe Airports record low services after New Year break

Few workers reported to work at the Federal Secretariat Abuja today, the same with other public offices across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Reports from our correspondents indicate that there was also low worker turn out in offices in Edo and Delta States.

Activities were also low at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.

The low turn out of public officers to their offices after the Christmas and New Year holidays has been attributed to the careless attitude of Nigerians towards productivity especially those in public service.

Emmanuel Eze, an Abuja resident told Daily Times that the low turn out may be attributed also to the economic realities facing the workers after the many money wasting activities they have indulged in during the festivities.

?Many of them travelled to their villages to spend their hard- earned money and are now reluctant to return to work because they are no longer happy. They will have to wait till the end of January before they will collect another salaries and remember there is school fees to pay this January,? he said.
