National Youth Centre Will Be Activated And Functional

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Awka Federal constituency, Chief Godson Ezenagu, has said that he would ensure that the National Youth Centre in the are was activated and functional once he is elected.

Ezenagu told Anambra students’ union under the umbrella of National Union of Anambra State Students (NUASS) in Awka on Sunday that he won’t be indolent representative.

According to him, the multimillion Naira National Youth Skills Development Centre for the South-East located at his village in Mgbaku, Awka North council area since 2012 had not served its purpose and was abandoned since then.

He noted that the centre would turn around the social, economic, political and educational fortune of the Five states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo when a responsive representative assumes duty in the National Assembly for the citizens. He noted it could not have been abandoned if it was cited in another location or state in the zone. He therefore urged voters to go for only persons with heart for doing good.

Ezenagu who was the immediate past Commissioner for Agriculture in Anambra state said youth development and empowerment were major pillars of his trust, adding that agriculture and vocational skills would be used to create employment and enhance the welfare of the people in the constituency.

“I intend to attract dividends of democracy to Awka North and South; I will ensure that that national youth centre for South-East sited in Mgbaku is maximally utilised for the benefit of the youths. Use my contacts and position to access foreign funds set aside for assistance to developing countries in favour of my people in areas of education, health care and basic needs of life as would be possible for a federal legislator,” he said.

Ezenagu urged the youths who are up to voting age to make their support effective by obtaining their permanent voter cards and stay off from violence or conduct capable of pitching the against the law.

On their part, the National Union of Anambra State Students (NUASS) described Ezenagu as a youth loving and easily accessible leader who had been on the side of the masses.

The students coordinator, Mr Arinze Okafor, the union said the candidate was already experienced given his track record as a two time former commissioner and managing director of the state environmental protection agency.

They pledged their strong support for his candidature, while urging him to deliver on his promise to his people.

“We the leaders of tomorrow have made consultations with relevant stakeholders and have resolved to give our support to you as you are philanthropist, successful businessman, a happy family man with no godfather.

“Therefore, we implore the people of Awka north and Awka South to rally round you by giving you their support and ensuring your victory at the polls.
